What class(es) should I sign up for?

Check out the "Styles" tab to see descriptions of our classes! Email us at northwestballetcenter@gmail.com to confirm what levels will be the best match.

**New Dancers: Ages listed are just for a base reference. Must have turned the listed age before the start of the dance year (September) to register. Final placements (if needed) will be made during the first few classes.

**Returning Dancers: Dancers typically stay in the same level for a full dance year (September-June), regardless of age. Unless there is a noticeable difference in levels (from the studio's eyes) classes tend to move levels together. It is also not uncommon for dancers to stay in a level for more than one year. Levels all depend on the demographic of dancers we have enrolled each year.

Dancer Handbook

A required reading when joining NWBC. The handbook goes over so much important information/policies/guidelines.

What should I wear to my Ballet class?

All dancers are required to wear ballet shoes (pink is the most worn color, but black, white, and skin tone colors are acceptable as well). Teachers may require a certain color for recitals.

Males: We prefer fitted athletic tops and bottoms. However, as long as your teacher can see what your body is doing without excess clothing in the way, most to all athletic clothing will suffice. More "traditionally" a solid white shirt and black tights or bottoms will also work!

Females: Leotard and tights (your choice of style and color)! Ballet/wrap skirts are optional. For upper levels, teachers may allow other styles of athletic wear during class time.

What should I wear to my Jazz class?

All dancers must wear jazz shoes (black or tan) to each class. Teachers may require a certain color for recitals.

For clothing a normal t-shirt, leotard, or tank top and leggings, jazz pants, or shorts are typically a good choice!.  No jeans, overly baggy clothing, or dresses/skirts without shorts or leggings underneath.

What should I wear to my Contemporary class?

All dancers must have a pair of pirouette half sole shoes or dance paws for each class. These particular footwear allow for us to dance as if we have no shoes on, but doesn't hurt our feet.

For clothing most to all athletic wear is accepted as long as it isn't distracting or hides too much of your body. Typically a t-shirt, leotard, or tank top and leggings, jazz pants, or shorts are a good choice!

What should I wear to my Jazz Funk class?

All dancers must wear dance sneakers or a clean/new pair of white bottom sneakers (cannot be worn outside as street shoes) to each class. For clothing most to all athletic wear is accepted as long as it is not distracting or restricting.  No jeans or dresses/skirts without shorts or leggings underneath. A normal t-shirt or tank top and leggings, joggers, or shorts are typically a good choice!

What should I wear to my Dance Basics class?

All dancers must wear jazz shoes (black or tan) to each class.

For clothing a t-shirt, leotard, or tank top and leggings, jazz pants, or shorts are typically a good choice! No jeans, overly baggy clothing, or dresses/skirts without shorts or leggings underneath.

Where can I buy my dance shoes and clothes?

NWBC will now be selling basic leotards, tights, and dance shoes (for all styles). Order through the studio (Sabrina Han) today!

How can I order studio merch/gear?

Studio merch are items that are designed and created by the studio (t-shirts, sweatshirts, tote bags, etc.). Studio gear are basic items (leotard, tights, dance shoes) ordered from trusted companies.

Print out an order form and turn it in to the studio. The studio will make and process orders sporadically throughout the year.

When do I have to order studio gear by?

We order studio gear two times a year, allowing multiple chances to get some fun studio gear!
  • August/September orders will receive gear by October (as long as nothing is back ordered).
  •  January/February orders will receive gear by March (as long as nothing is back ordered).
Order request forms are available year round, but merchandise will still be processed and ordered in the listed months.

What studio merch can I order?

Currently we have a studio t-shirt, sweatshirt, water bottles, and tote bag that can be ordered. If interest occurs we may add on other items too!

Items may be available at the studio. Orders for items not available at the studio are made during different times of the year.
